Community Support

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded at Howard University in Washington, DC. Its purpose is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic achievement, exemplary character, and promote community service. Xi Psi Omega (XPO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered in Anchorage, Alaska on October 21, 1983. For nearly thirty years, the chapter has implemented and participated in local community service programs, including providing scholarships to local high school students.


XPO Scholarship

XPO offers a one-time scholarship for local graduating seniors. There is an application and selection process for this award. The number and amount of awards varies each year. For more information or to apply for this scholarship, click HERE.


XPO Community Service

XPO and its members provide community service for local community members through donations and service at local food banks, with partner organizations, and through individual community requests. We host community service activities that impact both the local and global communities that address our International Program Initiatives including empowering our families through our Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP™ providing weekend and holiday meals for children in our community, our Youth Leadership Institute for middle school children, mental and physical health and wellness workshops and events, economic and financial wellness seminars, enhancing our environment with tree planting, gardening, waste reduction and recycling, advocating for social justice, and by uplifting our community.
